VisionCam XM Linux Documentation

Introduction

The operating system for the VisionCam is based on Debian Linux. The Linux OS is usually pre-installed on delivery of the devices.

The Debian system comes with some development packages like gcc, g++ and make. Additional device specific packages are included by IMAGO: Linux kernel, bootloader, IMAGO SDK, firmware, …. The user can easily install additional packages from the standard Debian repositories.

Recovery package contents

New Linux releases for the VisionCam XM are provided as recovery packages. A recovery package contains the Linux image (tar.gz) and scripts for installing images and for creating backup images.

MAKE_SD.cmd,
MAKE_SD.sh
Installs the Linux image on a µSD card by using a card reader.
Remote_OS_Backup.cmd,
Remote_OS_Backup.sh
Batch file / shell script:
Backup the filesystem of a remote device over Ethernet.
Remote_OS_Install.cmd,
Remote_OS_Install.sh
Batch file / shell script:
Install the Linux image on a remote device over Ethernet.
