Release Notes

The installed Linux image version is stored in the file /etc/elbe_version on the device.

For example:

  • Upgrading a device from Ubuntu 20.04 to 22.04 requiress running a file system based on v1.0. A direct upgrade from v0.1 is not supported.
  • Downgrading a device from Ubuntu 22.04 to 20.04 is not supported.

Note
The mechanism for installing the bootloader in QSPI flash has changed. The new image can therefore only be installed with the new recovery package scripts. The old recovery package may fail to install the new bootloader.
The new recovery scripts may also be used with the previous image release, but the bootloader will not be downgraded. This may cause compatibility problems.
